A smaller file. One less obstacle.
Last updated 28 September 2026
Make My File Fit is a 2CSOLUTION product for a familiar problem: a file is too large for the form you need to submit. It helps supported images and PDF documents meet a file-size limit, where that’s achievable within the tool’s limits. When a limit can’t be reached, it says so, shows the closest result with its real size, and labels it as over your limit. Downloading it is your choice. Each file type is added only after its processor has been tested.
One clear job
Choose a supported file, set a maximum file size, check the result, and save a new copy. Your original file isn’t changed. Basic single-file processing is free, and needs no account, payment or advertisement click. Advertising or optional paid features may be added in future. None are active on this site now.
How the Image tool works
By default, Smart Fit keeps your file type and proportions, and changes only what’s needed to reach your limit.
JPG and WebP:
- It uses the highest quality that fits, starting from 95%.
- While the image can still be made smaller in pixels, it keeps the quality at about 65% or higher, and reduces the pixel size instead.
- It never goes below 640 px on the longest side (or 160 px on the shortest), and never makes the image larger than your original.
- Only when the image is already at that smallest size may the quality go lower, down to 45%.
PNG: PNG has no quality setting, so Smart Fit only makes a PNG smaller in pixels, within the same size limits.
“Keep original dimensions” (in More options): the pixel size isn’t changed.
- For JPG and WebP, only the quality is lowered, down to 45%.
- A PNG is only re-saved at the same pixel size. If that isn’t enough, you’ll see the closest result.
Small limits may not be reachable.
You can also choose a different file type: JPG, PNG or WebP. The file type changes only when you choose it. Converting an image with transparent areas to JPG turns those areas white.
Built around your device
Images, and PDFs the tool supports, are processed in your browser. Your files aren’t uploaded to our servers. Visiting the website still involves our hosting provider; see the Privacy page.
What works today
- Image: still JPG, PNG and WebP images, up to 20 MB, 24 megapixels, and 16,384 pixels on either side. You can pick a size limit from 1 KB to 20 MB. HEIC and animated images aren’t supported.
- PDF: supported, non-interactive documents up to 10 MB and 50 pages. PDF mode rewrites the document’s structure. It doesn’t recompress scans or lower image quality. Password-protected, signed, fillable and interactive PDFs aren’t supported.
- Video: in development and not available. It will be added only once its processing passes testing.
