One tool, two file types

Whatever the form wants, make it fit.

How to make a PDF fit

Three steps. Nothing to learn.

  1. Choose your PDF

A letter, contract or application pack up to 10 MB and 50 pages. It opens in your browser — nothing is sent to us.

  2. Tell us the limit

Pick the maximum size the form accepts. If pages look scanned, we tell you before you start, because scans may not shrink much.

  3. Check and download

See the real size and page count, download the copy, then open it to check it.

Honest by design

Your document stays your document.

Every page, in order

Same page count, same order, same page size. We rewrite how the file is stored, not what’s on the pages.

Checked before you get it

We check that the content, fonts and pictures on every page are exactly the same as in your original. If they aren’t, we don’t offer the copy.

Stays on your device

Your PDF is processed in your browser tab and isn’t uploaded — important for IDs and contracts.

Signatures left alone

PDFs with passwords or digital signatures are turned away with a clear reason, never quietly broken.

Straight about scans

Scans are mostly pictures and shrink less. When pages look scanned, we tell you before you start.

Real bytes, not a guess

We measure the finished file before calling it a fit.

PDF questions

Before you download.

Straight answers about what happens to your document.

Will my PDF always reach the limit I pick?

Not always. We only rewrite how the file is stored, so PDFs that are mostly pictures, like scans, often shrink only a little. When pages look scanned we tell you before you start, and we always show the real result.

Will the pages or text change?

The text and pictures don’t. After rewriting, we check that the copy has the same number of pages, in the same order and at the same size, and that the content, fonts and pictures on every page are exactly the same as in your original. Links are checked too: if a link couldn’t be kept, we tell you how many, and which ones when we can, before you download, and you choose whether to use the copy. If anything else doesn’t match, we don’t offer it.

Can you shrink a password-protected PDF?

No. We can’t change a protected PDF, and we never try to get around a password. Open it in the app it came from. If it asks for a password, enter it, then save or export a copy without protection and bring that copy here.

What about PDFs with a digital signature?

We don’t change them, because any change would break the signature. If it’s already under the form’s limit, upload it as it is. If it’s too big, ask whoever sent it for a smaller signed copy.

Which other PDFs can’t you change yet?

PDFs with fillable form fields, attached files, scripts or media, or links that do more than open a web page, an email address, a phone number or another page. Plain links like those are fine: we check them, and if any couldn’t be kept in the copy, we tell you how many, and which ones when we can, before you download, and you choose whether to use the copy. When you choose a PDF we can’t change, we say why and what you can do instead. Nothing is changed.

Is my document uploaded anywhere?

No. Your PDF is processed in this browser tab. It isn’t uploaded.

It’s free — how is that paid for?

The tool is free and there are no ads or fees today. If ads are added later, they’ll only appear on guides and information pages, never on the tool itself, and your files never leave your device.

PDF too big to upload? Make it fit.

Pages and their order kept. Free, and nothing is uploaded.
